What’s Being Done?

During the March Council meeting, the Council requested a plan to ensure that the roots remaining from last year’s tree removals did not destroy sections of the sidewalk replaced during the road pavement project. On Wednesday, March 29, 2023, Mr. Wayne Weaver and I met with Alex Vasslo from Gregory Lester Tree Company to ask his professional advice on keeping tree roots from damaging the sidewalks. He recommended regular inspections followed by a broad-leaf herbicide treatment when necessary. I have included Lester’s proposal as part of this memo. The treatments will begin this Spring.

When Will the Work Take Place?

Inspections will take place twice a year in the Spring and Fall. The herbicide treatment will be applied as needed.

What Should I Expect?

The treatments will not affect access to the street or the resident's driveways. Lester Tree will mark areas that have been treated to notify residents. Please note: Lester Tree will only treat areas with active root growth.

Street Improvement Projects are now available at the Municipal Bldg., published in the Cincinnati Enquirer, the Village's newsletter, and on the Village's Website. If your property is being assessed and you believe it is in error you must deliver any objection to the Village Council in writing by May 8, 2023, to be considered by Council.
